After gaining a 2:1 BSc Honours in Biological Sciences, I began my working life as a research scientist completing a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology and carried out Postdoctoral Research. During this period, I engaged in the training and teaching of colleagues and students, and realised that my real passion is guiding and inspiring others to learn. This realisation led me to train as a Science Teacher, and I completed my PGCE (Science, specialism Biology) at the University of Oxford. From here, I worked as a qualified Secondary School Science Teacher teaching a range of exam boards and was regularly graded ‘Outstanding’. During this time, I also gained experience working with two exam boards and an education publisher. I then joined the University of Oxford as a PGCE Curriculum Tutor training secondary school science teachers. Since November 2020, I have worked as an independent Science Tutor based in Oxfordshire and I absolutely love it.

Tutoring Format
1. Online Science Tutorials
I offer an Initial Introduction Meeting, free of charge, to discuss the student’s learning requirements and how I can help.
​
All Tutorial Sessions are conducted online outside of school hours or during the day for homeschooled students. ​
I provide Tuition that is designed to meet the student’s individual learning requirements.
​
My thoughtfully planned teaching enables students to access and understand scientific concepts. We will build the student's confidence in revision skills and answering exam questions to promote progress.
​
Online Science Tutorials are booked in blocks of five. I offer Tutorials that are 1 hour in length.
My rate is £45 per 1 hour Tutorial.
I offer two Tutorial formats:

Subjects
I tutor Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) up to GCSE/Key Stage 4 and Biology at A-level. I have experience teaching a range of exam boards and qualifications.
